I’ve worn many hats in this life — Disciple, Cultivator, Journeyman Scribe, Outdoorsman, Projectile Enthusiast, Foody, and Life-Long Learner. For over two decades, I’ve been on a quest to capture the world with my pen and lens.
Let me share a glimpse into my journey: A journey of preaching, teaching, researching, and writing. There were moments of triumph and times when I got stuck, but by God, I kept going. I’ve contributed articles and content to The Well Community Church, penned thoughts for Lifeway’s Stand Firm men’s devotional, and collaborated on content to help Christians journey further up and further in with the God of the Bible.
Beyond the ink, I’m a husband to my beautiful wife, Amanda, and a father to an incredible son, Sam. I studied agricultural journalism and communications at Texas A&M University, graduating in 2008, and later studied theology, obtaining a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary in 2020.
As I navigate this side of life, my ultimate goal remains crystal clear — to know Jesus more and to help others know him. I write to wake myself up, and to help others wake up, to walk in the light, and to ride forth to victory. Join me as I share my stories, my musings, and the lessons I’m learning along the way.
1 Awake, awake,
Isaiah 52:1-2 ESV
put on your strength, O Zion;
put on your beautiful garments,
O Jerusalem, the holy city;
for there shall no more come into you
the uncircumcised and the unclean.
2 Shake yourself from the dust and arise;
be seated, O Jerusalem;
loose the bonds from your neck,
O captive daughter of Zion.
